Bug reports
Occasionally we find bugs in the current release of Venom2 or VenomIDE which may affect users. Usually a 'workaround' is possible. Bug reports and any workarounds applying to recent releases are documented on this page.Bug reports for older releases of Venom2 are documented in the Release Notes.

Bug report for Windows relating to VenomIDE

| Help not displaying | Some Windows configurations may not display the .CHM Help
files supplied with VenomIDE. Workaround: Any Windows .CHM (Compiled HTML) application must be installed on a local drive (i.e. typically drive C: or D:), as a Microsoft Windows security problem prohibits its use on a network drive. Fix: None In previous versions: n/a |
| Error message on starting VenomIDE | A Microsoft Windows XP security update in 2007 caused trouble with
a number of applications including the Micro-Robotics IDE. Workaround: None Fix: If an error message pops up when you start the IDE, see if it matches that shown on Microsoft knowledge base article 935448 and if so, apply the fix suggested on that page. For other error messages or if that doesn't work, please email techsupport@microrobotics.co.uk with full text of the error message, and any other details such as which Windows version you are using, and we'll investigate.
